    I got my booster 2 days ago. Yesterday I felt like crap, achy bones, headache, and generally felt meh. Today I’m still a bit achy and have a slight headache, nothing a couple of Panadol can’t keep at bay though. 💉

    So the kids school has been shutdown today because of a positive COVID case at the school. Not surprising, but still frustrating…obviously the kid doesn’t care, he’s happy to stay at home and play NBA 2k and Fortnite all day. 🤷‍♂️

    Newy lockdown 2

    Today, it was announced that Newcastle and the surrounding areas will stay in lockdown for another week as the daily number of positive COVID cases are still too high. So I guess that gives me at least another week of home schooling fun. Yay… It hasn’t all been bad though, I’ve been able to dedicate more time to the projects I’ve been working on. I’ve been able to dive into Saga: Compendium One, which is so good.

    Newy lockdown

    The end of the first week of lockdown in Newcastle isn't too far away, however, with the rising numbers of local cases I can't see it ending this week though. It doesn't make a huge difference to my every day life during the week, the biggest difference comes on the weekends when there's no football on, at least it's letting me catch up on the backlog of editing that's sitting in Lightroom currently.

    I’ve noticed over the past couple of weeks that the advertising on Instagram has gotten even worse, it’s like scrolling through the old Sky Mall magazines, but the ads are so cleverly disguised, in most cases, that they appear to be someone you’re following.

    Oh Karen...

    Just got told off by a young Karen for flying my drone over a public park, with nobody in it, whilst I was doing a job for a client. Apparently, being a licensed drone operator, with my radio handy to make sure there was no other air traffic in the area, wasn't good enough...and I quote, "you can keep saying you're a licensed pilot but it doesn't make any difference, you're not allowed to fly over a public park"

    So I've just learned that a local organisation is changing it's refund policy, understandable given the current COVID-19 pandemic, however, they're going to be applying it to purchases of their service that were made pre-pandemic.

    This season of Clone Wars has been pretty good, I’m really enjoying the Ahsoka ark in particular!

    At about 2:30am this morning my HomePod started playing Friendly Ghost. The whole family was fast asleep, and I can’t recall the last time I listened to The Eels.

    Drone captures chilling moment Great White shark stalks swimmers at NSW beach

    I love that there are sharks in the waters, it’s a good sign of an eco system beginning to recover…but the video that Sunrise put together for the story is disgusting!

    I don’t understand why the media needs to constantly demonise these animals! Why the flashing red, why call it a scene “straight from a horror movie”, why the menacing tone? There’s no way those swimmers are in danger from the shark, it’s not “stalking” them, it’s trying to find fish amongst the breakers. If it wanted to eat the people, this video would not be safe to view!

    The media just needs to stop the over dramatisation of these events. Embrace that our waters are starting to recover from over fishing, embrace the environmental aspect of this, and for crying out loud, let’s try to educate people!
