Forecast web app

I’m a bit of a weather geek and had been a little bit disappointed that the Dark Sky iPhone app wasn’t available in Australia, well disappointment be gone! The team behind Dark Sky has brought their magic forecasting algorithm to a new shiny web app, Forecast.

The app’s location awareness is pretty spot on, and so is their forecasting (kind of important for a weather app right). You can save your locations too for faster reference when you load / open the app. Go check it out!

Pro Tip: If you load it up on your iDevice you can of course save it as an app, the app icon is quite nifty too.

Garlic King Prawn Stir fry

20130327-184209.jpg

A very quick throw together recipe for this one;

  • I generally allow 7-8 King Prawns per person (for a main meal, less for an entree)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic paste, or 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon of chilli paste, or 1 chilli finely sliced and deseeded
  • 1 handful of green beans, topped and tailed
  • 1/2 a red onion, sliced finely
  • 1 handful of snow peas, topped and tailed

3/4 cook the King Prawns in a small amount of oil in a Wok With the garlic and chilli, then set aside.
Cook the onions for a minute in the wok before adding in the green beans and snow peas, then cook for a further 2 minutes.
Add the King Prawns back to the wok with the vegetables, stir fry for 1-2 minutes, or till the King Prawns are a nice shade of pink.

Serve it up with some salad or some rice depending on the taste you’re going for.

Enjoy!

Why do you use your full name rather than just Brian Bendis?

It’s either because I am a self-important dickhead or a serial killer 🙂

the honest answer is that for many years I didn’t make any money on my books and all that I got in return for all my hard work with my name on the cover so I made my name as long as humanly possible.

I like to think it might also have something to do with the way Dan & Merlin say, “BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS!” on Back To Work…but probably not. I still like to think it though.

How to Enable Two-Step Verification for Your Apple ID

Cody Fink from Mac Stories provided a walk through showing how to setup the two factor / step verification for your Apple ID.

You should really consider doing this if you use an Apple ID for anything, like buying Apps on your iPhone, buying movies on iTunes, etc.

Clients From Hell

“The font that you used makes my hips look big.”

Clients From Hell is one of my favourite blogs out there, I’ve never reposted anything from it though…then I saw this one this morning and couldn’t help myself. There are some stories on the site that are so insanely ridiculous that I worry for the human race.

Anyway, go check out Clients From Hell if you want a good chuckle.
