★ Scotch Whiskey Review: Laphroaig 10 Year Old

I just got my hands on, read as bought, a bottle of Laphroaig 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky and I figured that it might make a nice first review in the new Scotch Whiskey category on my website.

To say it’s peaty and smokey is an understatement, boy is it smokey! There is also a slight bit of a medicinal smell / taste to it initially, finishing off with a little bit of a hint of an ocean-y, seaweed-y, salt-y taste on the back of the palate.

It’s quite nice indeed. Definitely a good one to keep in the cabinet for random evenings with experienced Scotch Whiskey drinkers.

For the techie types – it’s a 10 year old single malt, from the Islay region of Scotland, weighs in at around 40.0%, and is cork sealed.

Roughly $70.00 a bottle.
