★ Twitter Spam

It’s good to finally see the admins at Twitter doing something about the amount of spam on the network, however there’s still way too many self-proclaimed ‘SEO Gurus’, ‘Internet Marketers’, ‘Social Networking Consultants’, and other nicer ways of saying ‘spam accounts’ for my liking….

This is one the big reasons I don’t use the network anymore, and also I’m finding that there’s little to no value in it for my line of work, not to mention that it’s such a massive time consumer. Continue reading

★ I have another cold, plus Alice in Wonderland!

This is a joke, I can’t believe it but somehow I have another cold. That’s three so far this season. Seriously going to the doctors as soon as I’m over this one and I’m getting the flu shot. My parents both had the flu shot and managed to only get like one day of cold like symptoms, to me that’s a win for sure.

I’m at work at the moment but come lunch time I’m heading home via the chemist to get me some Codral Cold n Flu Tablets to try and kick this thing in the butt. So far I’ve been taking Panadol Cold n Flu Lemon Drink, ie. Panadol’s version of Lemsip, and it’s just not working well enough for me. Continue reading

★ Lost Valentinos, Cities of Gold

On the eve of  a national tour supporting their latest album Cities of Gold, and including some stage time at Splendor in the Grass, Nik Yiannikas the vocalist from Aussie techno rockers Lost Valentinos managed to pry himself away from packing the van to answer a few questions about touring, recording an album, and the Sydney music scene.

And if you’re in Newcastle, make sure you read the interview all the way to the end coz there’s a double pass to give away to their Cambridge gig! Continue reading

★ The Horrors: Primary Colours

The Horrors have proven smarter than we may have thought. Their sophomore album retires the goth hipsterisms, and tackles the sound of 1950s sci-fi instead. With laser beam keyboards and time-warped guitars, Primary Colours channels the darker side of Post Punk and the metronomic pulse of Krautrock to great effect. Continue reading
