★ Lazy Sunday mornings

Sunday morning, wish I had a espresso machine at home. Cath’s making breakfast and Cherry is offended that I woke her up……she’s normally awake in seconds whenever there is food around.

★ Mac Dock 'hack'

Every now and then I decide to have a bit of a play around and see if I can fix up / clean up / make better / tweak / etc how my Macs perform and some how I stumbled upon this little trick that puts all your apps only one click away.

With this little hack you can clean up all the extra apps in your Dock and keep your Mac looking just as pretty as it should. And if you have loads of Apps installed like me, then this will really clean up your dock.

★ Credit Crisis, what does it actually mean?

Have you heard all about this ‘credit crisis’ thing and wondered what the hell it actually is? Have you ever wondered, what does it actually mean to me?

Well here’s a short video that explains pretty well everything happening with the credit crisis, how it started, who’s responsible, and it’s done in such a way that it is insanely easy to understand.

From the creator, Jonathan Jarvis

The goal of giving form to a complex situation like the credit crisis is to quickly supply the essence of the situation to those unfamiliar and uninitiated. This project was completed as part of my thesis work in the Media Design Program, a graduate studio at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

And now for the video;

★ Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen

I loved the first Transformers movie, and I’m totally looking forward to the sequel Revenge Of The Fallen. Here’s a short preview video of the upcoming Transformers – Revenge Of The Fallen movie. It looks like it’s going to be pretty awesome, possibly better than the first one. Can’t wait.

★ Meet the Blob – now with video

So today we had another ultrasound, this time it it was for the 12-13 weeks NT test where they basically take a measurement of ‘blobs’ neck and that combined with some information from a blood test tells us what the chances of the baby being born with down syndrome or a couple of other diseases.

All the results came back great and we’re in a very low risk category which is excellent news.

As part of the scan they also do a ‘3D’ image of the baby, and we got a video of the whole thing as well. It’s really amazing to see all of this sort of stuff, a little scary too because now I can really really see there’s a baby in Cath’s belly.

Everything seems to be going along well so far, and hopefully it will continue on like this. Fingers crossed. Oh and the baby has all but doubled in length in the last 2 weeks, it’s currently around 6.5cm long.

And nope, we don’t know the sex yet, that comes at around 20 weeks. And yes we do want to know, and we won’t be keeping it a secret or anything like that.

So here’s the video from today’s scan, if you want to skip straight to the 3D imaging it’s around 7:05 I think. Other highlights include seeing both sides of the brain, the heart and heart beat, cardiac output measurements.

★ Head of State – Capo (video)

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I was spending the weekend in the studio with Head of State as they were recording their debut album, which is now going to be a double album, and I was going to be shooting photos and filming.

Well the studio was incredibly dark and because of noise restrictions and that sort of thing it was really difficult to get much in the way of photos and video, however I did manage to get some alright stuff to try and put together a video clip for one of the singles from the upcoming album.

At this stage the film clip is a while away, however when I was converting some of the footage over the weekend I came across this full clip of Murray recording the guide track for their song Capo. Basically a guide track is the initial recording so that everyone knows the timing of the song, and once the guide track is done all the separate parts are then recorded individually using the guide track as a reference.

Anyway, here’s the guide track for Capo. Enjoy

★ Meet the blob

If you read my twitter stream, or we’re friends on facebook, then you probably saw my announcement the other day that Cath and I are having a baby. If you didn’t know, well I guess you do now.

Currently we’re around 12 weeks in, and have a due date of the 26th of August (I think). So far the due date has changed twice, hence me not being sure of it.

Cath’s got another ultrasound on Monday and I think we get one of those fancy 3D ones, for now though here’s one of the images from the last ultrasound about 2 weeks ago.

★ Working through a redesign

It was always my intention to do another redesign on my website here, actually I was going to do it over the holiday break at the end of 2008 however I ended up picking up some freelance website development work and with that a lot of my time was consumed.

As you can probably see, assuming you’re reading this article on my website rather than in the RSS feed, I’ve actually started the theme update. By now you regular readers will know that I’m not really one to get a WordPress theme all built up and tested before I release it to my website, of course in my freelance work I do actually do it properly, and why should I do it any differently this time..haha.

Anyway, there will be a load of changes and ‘pretty image things’ coming over the next 24-48 hours so come on back and check it out…..and maybe there will be some other news or something tomorrow as well.

★ Exclusives are awesome

Today over on I’m With The Band we were given the go ahead to display the latest video clip from a local Newcastle band, Here Come The Birds. The band is having their video launch party on Saturday night at the Cambridge Hotel here in Newcastle, however we’re getting to show the video for Sharp White Teeth first.

So far it’s been great for traffic, exclusives always are, and hopefully it continues on that way over the next couple of days.

I wasn’t planning on posting the video here, but I kind of can’t help myself as the song is so catchy I want to share it with everyone. Newcastle music is so much more than The Screaming Jets and Silverchair, not that there’s anything wrong with either of those bands.

So here it is, Here Come The Birds – Sharp White Teeth, enjoy.

And don’t forget, you can catch Here Come The Birds on Saturday night in Newcastle at the Cambridge Hotel!
