It was a pretty hot and dry day in Newcastle today, it was one of those summer days where the north westerly wind just blew all day and we ended up with about 40 degrees Celsius in Newcastle. Ouch it was hot!
When it’s this hot I tend to watch the weather charts to see if there’s any storms building, and as luck would have it there was a pretty solid one that started building up this afternoon. Bit by bit the weather system crept up the coastline from Sydney and at about 8pm the skies got fairly angry and dropped a load of rain and yup, there was some cracking lightning heading every which way.
Here’s a handful of photos shot from our sun room, which is now gaining a reputation as a storm room!
