A couple of months ago I did a portrait session with some friends who were expecting their first child. While I’ve photographed many different things in my time, this was the first maternity portrait shoot that I’d done.

After doing a bit of research around the web I had a few ideas that I thought would work well for what they were after, as well as having a few backup ideas of my own that I thought might be kind of cool.

We shot these images over 2 weekends prior to their son being born, and this weekend we’re going to be doing a followup shoot. Hopefully we get some more great photos.
